The Network welcomes two new industrial partners

We are happy to announce the arrival of two new industrial partners in the Convergence Network: Chaac Technologies and Thales- Research and Technology Canada.

Through this partnership, both companies hope to work with Network members on various R&D projects and benefit from our researchers expertise.

Launch of GeoAlliance Canada

A new governance structure to support the strategy and action plan of the Canadian geomatics community will be launched shortly. The organization GeoAlliance Canada is intended to provide a structure to existing Canadian geospatial organizations to pool their energies and resources to collaboratively address sector-wide strategic priorities.

GeoAlliance Canada will be rolled out to the geospatial community at two webinars:
English: February 17, 12:00-1:30pm EST
French: February 18, 12:00-1:30pm EST

Spatial Knowledge and Information (SKI) Canada- February 27 to March 1st, 2015

The Spatial Knowledge and information Canada 5th Conference will be held February 27 to March 1st, 2015 in Banff, Alberta.

Spatial Knowledge and information Canada convenes researchers and students from the following fields: GIScience, applied GIS, geomatics, Geoweb, remote sensing, cartography etc. Come share your experiences in using GIS in academia in Canada and around the world. Learn from other researchers and students of GIS on best practices and ways of accommodating different domains of knowledge.

As part of its webinars series, the Convergence Network received Ms. Annick Brosseau, Business Development Director for the Quebec region at MITACS, last February 4th. This webinar was an opportunity to demystify MITACS funding programs and provide answers to several questions from the community.
